Through extensive research and strategic collaborations with renowned medical practitioners, Kaalcāri is committed to providing the market with footwear and foot add-ons that support the foot anatomically and physiologically.
Our team consists of design experts, innovation specialists, business leaders, podiatrists, orthopaedic and plastic surgeons, endocrinologists, physiotherapists, and bio-mechanists. Together, we strive to address the significant impact that footwear has on our overall health and well-being. Studies indicate that approximately 87% of people experience foot pain or foot-related problems during their lives, with 78% of these issues stemming from ill-fitting footwear. Common foot problems caused by such footwear include bunions, calluses, plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, and corns. Flat feet, particularly prevalent among children, can be rectified over time by wearing proper foot inserts.
Furthermore, individuals with conditions such as diabetes and arthritis often require supportive footwear to alleviate pain and discomfort. Many of these problems can be effectively resolved or managed with customized orthotics, which can be supportive, corrective, or accommodative, depending on the specific health disorder. The Founder
The founder of Kaalcāri, Tejaswini Raaj is an MA graduate in Footwear from the University of the Arts London- London College of Fashion. Her masters thesis was centred around health and wellness based footwear. She completed her Bachelor's in Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories Design from NIFT Bangalore and holds an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences in Accessories Design from Fashion Institute of Technology, State University of New York.
She has worked with Ruosh in Bangalore, Lidkar Brand revamping capsule project (Bangalore), Accessories Group- New York and Global brands- Calvin Klein ft. FIT project (New York).
Kaalcari received incubation from NSRCEL IIMB and has won awards and recognitions at various startup awards, competitions and conclaves.
